The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month

About 40 people gathered at 2 p.m. today to honor those Monitronics employees who have served the country in the Armed Services. The reception in the main tower lasted 45 minutes with American flag cake and time for the veterans to introduce themselves and say a few words about their service.

Dave Bolles Sr., Supervisor of the Executive Response Team, opened the event. The Vietnam vet and 28-year retired U.S. Marine emphasized the company’s commitment to veteran employees.

“Monitronics is the first company that I have worked for that has stopped and recognized their veteran employees,” he said. “This Veterans Day is for us, those of us who served in any capacity. “

Jose Rocha, Dealer Tech Support, came back from Iraq five months ago. “To be standing here with everyone back at work has so much value to me,” he said. “There’s all this appreciation for our service and we notice that.”

The 11th day of the 11th month was originally called Armistice Day, and it commemorated the end of the Great War, the “war to end all wars,” and honored those who served in World War I. Congress in 1954 changed the name to Veterans Day to honor those who have served in all wars.

This is so amazing to see that our veterans are recognized for their dedication to our Country! They gave their lives and it’s such a privilege to see businesses recognize and honor what our veterans have done for all of us who call themselves Americans!
