Recently, Central Station Emergency Dispatch Operator Delia Rico received burglary signals from a business in Houston. She quickly called the business but didn’t get an answer. Delia was able to reach the manager and he said, “Send the police!”
Delia was able to send the alarm notification using a pilot technology, ASAP, which communicates signals electronically to the 911 center. The dispatch was communicated to the Houston Emergency Center within seconds and officers were on the scene in no time.
As a result of the speedier dispatch time, the police were able to call us back within six minutes to tell us they made three arrests. SIX MINUTES—THREE ARRESTS!
