Everyday Superhero: Julia Trevino

On August 4, Julia Trevino received a burglary alarm from a business in California. She called the business, but didn’t reach anyone—she left a message. On her next call, she reached the business owner who said, “No one’s supposed to be there, send the police!”

Julia immediately called the police and they raced to the business.

After the emergency

When the police arrived, as they rounded the corner, they saw people climbing out of a broken window. They caught the burglars red-handed and quickly made the arrest.

When we reached the owner of the business, she said, “I’m thrilled that the police were able to arrest the burglars. Thank you Monitronics for helping to save my property from vandals.”

Everyday Superhero: Angel Flores

On August 4, Angel Flores received a burglary alarm from a home in Ohio. She made a call to the home, but didn’t reach anyone. She quickly called the police department and they went to check out the scene.

After the emergency

When the police arrived, they found a suspect, in the home of our customer. Thanks to the alarm system, they were able to make the arrest on the spot. The police said, “We stopped the burglar in the act of ransacking the house. We have him in custody and he’s on his way to jail.”

Who Do We Call When Your House is on Fire?

Your emergency contact list is so vital to your alarm monitoring. We’ll always try to call you first to tell you about any emergency at your house. Then we’ll send the right emergency responder. But, somehow we need to let you know what’s going on at home.

That’s where your emergency contact list comes into play. These are the folks and numbers that we call if we can’t reach you at your home number. They should be people you trust who live or work near your home. Some considerations for your emergency contact list:

  • Be sure that you have all numbers we should try for you; think: cell, work numbers, spouse phone numbers.
  • Trusted neighbors are a good resource. They live close and can be at your house quickly if they’re available.
  • Trusted friends
  • Family members

And, remember to always keep this contact list up-to-date. You can manage it using your MyMonitronics account at Monitronics.com.

Saving Lives and Property: Ricardo Navarrete

Late one night, Emergency Dispatcher Operator Ricardo Navarrete received a silent hold-up button alarm from a convenience store in California. He knew that hold-up alarms can mean pretty scary situations for our customers. Without delay he called the police and with lights flashing and sirens blaring they raced to the store.

Once there, the officers took caution while approaching the store. With skill and precision they were able to apprehend a suspect who was in the process of robbing the clerk. Shocked that he had been caught, the suspect was quickly handcuffed and taken to jail where he was booked for the crime.

AFTER THE EMERGENCY

Later when we talked to our customer, he was well pleased with Ricardo’s quick response that saved the day. He said “Thank you Monitronics, great work.”

Saving Lives and Property: Lakima Price

Lakima Price recently intercepted a burglary alarm from the D. Wise residence. When Lakima called Mr. Wise, she quickly learned that he wasn’t home and he wanted her to send the police. Without delay she had the authorities on the road in no time.

Later that same day Mr. Wise called in to say, “When I arrived home the police were in the process of arresting the burglar. Also, please give Kudos to the operator that dispatched for me. Thank you.”

Great job Lakima! This customer is very pleased with your response and your speedy dispatch.
